The Tiffany & Co. 2023 Sustainability Report
We are proud to share progress on our sustainability efforts in our newly published 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighted below:
•We achieved nearly 100% traceability for all newly sourced, individually registered diamonds of .18 carats and above. We were the first luxury jeweller to share this level of transparency—where our diamonds are cut, polished, graded and set—with our clients. In doing so, we are proud to share our commitment to a responsible value chain.
•Tiffany & Co. was the first luxury jewellery brand to receive approval from the Science Based Targets initiative for our net-zero emissions target. Our goal to be net-zero in greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 is based on the latest climate science and meets the critical need to keep warming to 1.5° C above pre-industrial levels in line with the Paris Agreement.
•Ocean conservation is embedded in Tiffany & Co.’s legacy and is near to our hearts. Looking back, we were the first major jeweller to cease the sourcing of coral for jewellery. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, through its grantmaking, has supported the creation and implementation of over 30 marine protected areas, protecting more than 13 million square kilometers (approximately 1.5x the size of the United States) across the world’s five oceans.
At Tiffany & Co., we believe it is our responsibility to be at the vanguard of sustainable luxury. We challenge ourselves to the highest standards of responsible business, strive to provide maximum transparency of where our beautiful products are made, continually drive to reduce carbon emissions across our value chain and champion ocean conservation for maximum climate and biodiversity impact. We will strive to continue to achieve meaningful progress across traceability, climate and conservation in the years ahead.
