Frequently Asked Questions

What is engraving?

Tiffany & Co. is pleased to offer both engraving and hand engraving for a select number of items available online.

Items purchased on may be standard engraved with up to three initials in one of our three most popular styles: Block, Roman and Script. To see a list of items that may be engraved, click here.

Standard Engraving:
This method employs technology to cut or displace the metal, consistently replicating our most popular lettering styles.

For standard engraving, the servicing charge for one, two or three initials on sterling silver is €30 (€60 per pair of cuff links). If an item that may be engraved is added to your shopping bag, you will have a chance to input engraving instructions during the checkout process.

Engraving of items ordered online is done in uppercase letters. Unfortunately at this time we cannot engrave numbers, punctuation or special characters on items ordered from our website.

Hand Engraving:
Hand engraving is the art of removing metal to create lettering through the use of manual tools. Each piece is unique, allowing for the different character of each engraver. This technique allows for longer lasting, deeper engraving.

For hand engraving options, please call 00 800 2000 1122 or visit your nearest Tiffany store.
