Care & Repair

FAQs

How do I care for my watch?

Battery
The discharged battery of the quartz watch should be replaced immediately to prevent the leak of the battery. When the battery liquid leaks, the movement can be damaged enough to be impossible to repair.

Bracelet, case & leather strap
Do not shock the watch. Do not be exposed to extreme temperatures. After the clock is severely shocked, you must check the domestic function. If you are in direct contact with detergent, solvent, perfume, or cosmetics, leather straps, bracelets, cases may be damaged, so avoid contact with such materials. Follow the precautions above to prevent the wear or bleach of the material. In the case of leather straps, avoid contact with water or moisture to prevent leather form deformation (and discoloration). Avoid exposure in the sun for a long time so that the color of the clock does not fade. Where can I buy leather straps?

Date setting mechanism
You can damage the date setting mechanism, so never adjust the time between 9:00 pm (21:00) and 3:00 am (03:00).

Rapid temperature change
Avoid rapid temperature changes (eg, soak the clock in cold water and expose it to heat) and to the extreme temperature (60 ° C / 140 ° F or more or less than 0 ° C / 32 ° F).

magnetic field
Most mechanical clocks can be damaged if they are exposed to the magnetic field. If you own a mechanical (automatic movement) watch that is not wearing regularly, please wind up at least once a month. This will delay the process of lubricated parts and oil.

Hmm prevention
Avoid wearing a clock on your wrist like jewelry. It is a good idea to avoid the clocks from touching the clock to prevent the scratch or damage of the clock.

Service & Repair
In general, clocks are exposed to various environmental factors such as vibration, shock, dust, water, ultraviolet rays, sweat, and temperature changes. It is also informed that the movement, which is designed to inform the time with precision without any error, can cause mechanical deformation due to the pressure applied daily for many years. It is recommended that regular maintenance checks for all watches once every two years and comprehensive services every five years.

Domestic function
The domestic function of the Tiffany clock is not guaranteed continuously. The aging and sudden impact of the gasket than any other elements have the most influence on the domestic function. The domestic function must be inspected at a Tiffany store or a certified service center at least every two years. If a serious impact on the clock is applied, it is recommended to receive a shock prevention test. Never avoid sauna, shower, bath. Hot water can damage the domestic seals.

If the clock is in contact with seawater or swimming pool water, you should immediately rinse with clean water. When the clock is submerged in the water, the push button of the chronograph function of the clock should not be used.
